Pressure test performed on the water lines
Water heater drained, with its gas/electric shut off
Non-toxic antifreeze in sink, tub, shower, and floor-drain traps

Not included: pipe insulation or faucet covers — winterization protects the home by removing the water from the system, not by wrapping pipes.

Winterization questions

When should I book a home winterization in San Antonio?

In the fall, before the first hard freeze. San Antonio cold snaps don’t give much warning, and most winters bring at least a night or two cold enough to burst a pipe in an unprotected home. Booking ahead of the snap is the whole point.

Is this the same as a sprinkler blowout?

No — a sprinkler blowout only clears the irrigation lines. This is a whole-home winterization: the domestic plumbing system is drained down and left depressurized, the water heater is drained, and traps get non-toxic antifreeze. If you only need the sprinkler system done, that’s a smaller job — ask us and we’ll tell you straight.

What if my plumbing isn’t standard?

The $250 special covers standard residential homes in the San Antonio service area. If we find non-standard plumbing or a repair that’s needed, we quote it separately, in writing, before any extra work is done — no surprises.
